Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding just released a music video for her song "Anything Could Happen". The track is the first single of her album "Halcyon" which will be released in the U.K. and the U.S. on October 8 and October 9 respectively.
The music video begins with a scenic view of the waves hitting the shores of Malibu, and then shows the beautiful electro-pop princess wearing an off-white almost-tattered dress while lying on a rock. It also features footage of her and a man in a car speeding down a road before ending with a very tragic twist as the man, who is apparently Ellie's soul mate, dies because of a car crash.
"I wanted there to be a surreal aspect but also something very emotional and touching," she said about the clip which was filmed in Malibu, Los Angeles. "The idea that so much can change in a single instant scare me and I like confronting my fears."
The girlfriend of Skrillex also talked about her upcoming album with Digital Spy and she said that "Halcyon" is a bit more tribal and anthemic. "I've gained more influences and different influences and people have influenced it; I suppose just circumstances. It's a bit more tribal and anthemic," she stated.
Previously, the singer released a lyric video for the song. It features Instagram photos arranged in such a way that the images create a montage-like effect. All the photos are submitted by her loyal followers via Instagram after she solicited images from them.
Goulding's album has been available for pre-order since July of this year. According to her official website, it will come with a unique Polaroid signed by Ellie, an exclusive pre-sale for her forthcoming tour, a specially commissioned piece of jewelry, and a limited edition poster.
