Jay-Z to Stream His Last Concert at Barclays Center Live on YouTube

Those who are unable to watch any of Jay-Z's eight concerts at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn need no worry. They will be able to catch his performance at the brand-new multi-million-dollar complex in high quality via a live streaming on YouTube this weekend at 9:30 P.M. ET.

The Hov officially announces that his sold-out gig on Saturday, October 6 will be broadcast online via his Life + Times channel. In addition to celebrating the launch of the new YouTube channel, the live streaming will mark the end of his eight-day concert to christen the new sport center.

The new YouTube channel itself will be like a television network that provides original video materials and monetizes through ads. It will be a place for the rap mogul "to showcase the breadth of his interests, from fashion, architecture, music, style, food, consumables, electronics, and so forth."

"His philosophy has always been to do things out of the box, do them first, do them in a surprising way," says his collaborator, IconicTV co-founder and chief creative officer Michael Hirschorn. "I think that's one of the main reasons he has kept his brand as fresh and robust as he has because he's constantly surprising the public with what he's doing."

"We're approaching this channel and programming it, not at the level of an MTV or a BET - at least, not yet - but really programming it as a real channel that will have regular content, some featuring him, some under his creative direction, but that when he wants to reach his audience, he's no longer going to have to go through an intermediary to get to that audience."

Jay-Z Opens His 40/40 Club at the Barclays Center

Jay-Z threw a star-studded grand opening party of his 40/40 club & restaurant at the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday night, September 27. Looking dapper in a tux and bowtie, the rapper welcomed his close friends and family to the hot spot.

The likes of Rihanna, J. Cole and Lyor Cohen were spotted supporting him at the launching party. It took place one day before the Jiggaman officially christened the multi-billion dollar complex in an eight-night live concert starting Friday.

"I walked around here earlier and I just seen everybody busy and at work trying to finish up and it was a great feeling," he gushed. "A guy stopped me in the hallway and said, 'Man this is a great thing for New York City.' And that's what the whole thing was about."

"Yeah I think I'm the American dream," he added. "That whole thing that you could come here and pull yourself up by the bootstraps, like that whole thing what America has always put up to the world that we represent. I feel that. Yes, I've lived that."

The Barclays Center boasts 101 luxury suites, four bars and lounge destinations, three clubs, and eight retail shops. It will house concerts by Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Green Day and Barbra Streisand, and various sport events like college basketball and boxing events.

Beyonce Knowles kept it low key on her 31st birthday, September 4. Instead of partying, the singer spent the day with her family. She was caught on camera enjoying a Mediterranean cruise on a superyacht with her husband Jay-Z and baby girl Blue Ivy.

The couple enjoyed a meal on the deck. In one of the pictures, Queen Bey was seen sitting with her little girl on her lap. In some other photos, proud daddy Hov had bonding time with the baby on the helm of the yacht decorated with balloons and streamers.

While the new mom was away on a holiday, her family and friends showered her with congratulatory messages posted on her official website. Sister Solange Knowles, former Destiny's Child mate Michelle Williams (II) and beastie Gwyneth Paltrow sent handwritten notes to wish her a happy birthday.

"There is no-one like you in the world, of all of your mind blowing achievements that one that first comes to mind is your kindness," Solange wrote. "Your sense of selflessness, consideration of other people's well being and your beautiful generosity are all things that make me so proud be your sister and your friend."

Michelle said, "Happy birthday to youuu!! I love you so very much. I am so thankful you're in my life." Gwyneth, along with Chris Martin and their children, wrote, "For dear sweet BB on the occasion of her 31st birthday ... We love you so very much."

Report: Beyonce Knowles to Perform at Jay-Z's Made in America Festival

Beyonce Knowles may perform at Made in America Festival in Pennsylvania later this fall. It seems to make sense since the music festivity is held by her rap mogul husband Jay-Z. The gig will be documented in a movie.

"Beyonce will hit the stage in a surprise performance at her hubby's festival next weekend in [Pennsylvania]," a source tells Huffington Post. "The performance is top secret but it will be filmed for Jay's documentary about the event. It's going to be epic."

Director Ron Howard is tapped to film the Made in America that is scheduled to take place on two consecutive days, September 1 and 2. The filmmaker said the pic wouldn't be a concert film, but "a reflection of the fabric of what it means to be Made in America - what the festival represents, why Jay is doing it and how he relates to each artist."

Such big artists as Pearl Jam, Run DMC, Rita Ora, Calvin Harris, Afrojack and more are expected to make live performances at the festival. The Hov himself is set to perform on Saturday night, September 1.

NYC Designer Sues Jay-Z Over Roc-A-Fella Logo

Jay-Z and his former Roc-A-Fella partners are being sued by a clothing designer from New York City over unpaid royalties of designing the record label's logo back in 1995. The logo in question is that of an "R" with a bottle of champagne and a record in the background.

The New York Post reported that Dwayne Walker, the clothing designer who filed the suit, alleged that the rapper and his former partners Damon "Dame" Dash and Kareem "Biggs" Burke agreed to pay him $3,500 for the logo and 2 percent royalties from all products with the logo until 2015. The royalties have now added up to at least $7 million, according to the lawsuit.

"The logo has become universally recognized as an iconic symbol of Jay-Z, one of the most successful recording artists in the history of popular music," the suit states as reported by the Daily News.

Walker is claiming copyright infringement, but with no details of what the actual agreement between Roc-A-Fella and Walker was, there is no way to tell how the case will go. In most cases, the copyrights of artistic work such as a logo design is held by the creator and he reserves the right to reproduce, redistribute, and license it to others. However, if the artist works as an independent contractor, the company may or may not own the logo, depending on the agreement between the parties.

Roc-A-Fella was founded as way to release Jay-Z's debut album, "Reasonable Doubt." It is now owned by Universal Music Group.
