Tom Cruise Calls Wife Audition Story Old Boring Lies

Tom Cruise is battling Vanity Fair's story about an audition held by Scientology Church to find him a suitable wife. Despite the fact that the story was confirmed by director Paul Haggis, the former husband of Katie Holmes vehemently denies it.

"Vanity Fair's story is essentially a rehash of tired old lies previously run in the supermarket tabloids, quoting the same bogus 'sources.' It's long, boring and false," Tom tells The Hollywood Reporter in a statement issued by his lawyer Bert Fields.

In the shocking story, Iranian-born actress Nazanin Boniadi allegedly passed the first stage of the audition and dated Tom in November 2004. Their relationship went well until he started having a series of complaints about her including her reluctance for PDAs.

She was reportedly kicked out of Tom's house and ended up being forced to scrub toilets with a toothbrush, clean bathroom tiles with acid, dig ditches in the middle of the night, and sell Dianetics on street corners after telling a friend about her relationship with the actor.

While the Church dismissed the allegations, the rumor kept persistent after a second source, Haggis, testified that the story was indeed true. The former Scientologist said he kept silent in the past years because "Naz was embarrassed by her unwitting involvement in this incident and never wanted it to come out."

"The last thing she wanted or needed is this kind of publicity, but here it is, and I am sure she will deal with it with the same grace and dignity she exudes in her daily life. I'm appalled that any church would treat its parishioners this way, but Naz has never cast herself as a victim. She is strong and resilient and I am very proud to call her a friend."

Katie Holmes Never Banned by Tom Cruise to Take Suri to Meet Her Family

Amid report that Katie Holmes took her daughter Suri to Toledo, Ohio to hang out with her family, there's rumor that it was the first Suri met her cousins. The story was quickly dismissed by a source close to the actress. The source told PEOPLE "Katie visited Ohio with Suri many times" while she's married to Tom Cruise.

"To say Tom prevented anything is a gross lie. He not only didn't prevent [Suri having a relationship with Holmes' family] but encouraged it and paid for it!" the insider insisted. "The first several birthday parties Katie and Tom threw for Suri had the family and cousins come to town - all expenses were paid for by Tom."

The source claimed Suri always spent holidays with family members despite the parents' busy schedules. The little girl and her mother Holmes once were joined by Cruise's adopted children Bella and Connor on one Thanksgiving in Toledo when he was away to film his movie "Knight & Day".

Holmes' "entire family spent at least two Christmases with Tom and Katie in Telluride," the source added. The family gatherings were not limited only on holidays. "[He] also invited the family - cousins included - to New Orleans this past [spring] for the Final Four," the source dished on.

Katie Holmes Using Disposable Phone to Fool Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes Using Disposable Phone to Fool Tom Cruise

How did Katie Holmes keep her divorce plan from Tom Cruise? According to Los Angeles Times, the actress used a disposable cellphone to contact her lawyers and build her case without the "Rock of Ages" actor knowing about her plan.

The phone reportedly was provided by Katie's friend, and she used it to hire attorneys from three law firms in three different states. Tom indeed said he felt blindsided when she filed for divorce on June 28 and sought sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter Suri.

In her filing, Katie stated she and Tom have grown apart since last year. In a pre-divorce interview with ELLE, she did give hint at entering "a new phase." She explained, "I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that."

Knowing that their little girl would be the one hurt the most if the proceedings went to court and got messy, the couple tried to resolve their issues out of court and finally reached a win-win solution over the weekend. According to PEOPLE, Katie will live primarily with Suri with generous visitation by Cruise.

"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents," they said in a joint statement.

Securing the fourth spot was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with $36 million. The professional wrestler-turned-actor gained a big success from his recent flicks, including "Fast Five" which grossed $626 million worldwide. Rounding up the top five is Ben Stiller, who will next be seen in "The Watch", with $33 million.

Forbes compiles the list by considering multiple factors, including upfront pay, profit participation, residuals, endorsements and advertising work. The site additionally discussed the subjects with manager, agents, lawyers and other in-the-know folks to come up with the site's estimates.

Tom Cruise originally wanted to spend his 50th birthday in Iceland, but changed his plan after his wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce last week. The "Mission: Impossible" star left Europe on Tuesday, July 3 when he was supposed to celebrate the milestone with his family.

Cruise boarded his private jet at around 2 in the morning and was said to be heading to his home in California. He reportedly begged his wife to go to Iceland so that he could try to resolve their issues, but Holmes refused and this led to a huge fight.

His 17-year-old son Connor, whom he adopted with then-wife Nicole Kidman, visited Cruise in Iceland around the same time Holmes submitted her divorce papers. On Sunday, the teen posted a rather cryptic statement about family. "#LaFamilia Always. Friends Come And Go, But Family Is Forever," he tweeted. His sister Isabella, has not said anything so far.

While Cruise headed to Los Angeles, Holmes was in New York with their daughter Suri. The Mother and daughter duo moved out of an apartment the actress shared with Cruise in favor of a $12,000 a month rented apartment in the Big Apple.

Holmes, who was recently photographed without her wedding ring, is seeking sole custody of 6-year-old Suri. There are speculations that her decision to divorce the "Oblivion" actor is because of Scientology, his religion.

Cruise has hired Dennis Wasser, the same lawyer who represented him when he was divorced from Kidman, to represent him in the divorce.
