"The Howie filibuster is getting annoying to me, actually," Stern said after hearing Mandel speak so highly of Barry, who sang "Feelin' Good" in the Tuesday, July 10 episode. "I gotta tell you - you know, Big Barry, this isn't about you. This is about Howie and how we preach the show."
Believing that there were other performers who could do better than Barry, he added, "This is about the apology you owe to Flo Jo's daughter, to Andrew De Leon, to all the people that could have gotten through instead of Big Barry. You ruined their chance...Howie owes all those performers that could have had a shot on this stage. Barry, no offense to you, but you're not fun, you're not funny and you're not talented. It was a big waste of time."
Also performing that night were LionDanceMe, who bored Mandel with their act, which was claimed to be 5 to 10 times more dangerous than their previous performances. In contrary, contortionist dancer Turf got a standing ovation from Stern and audience.
Other highlights from the outing included Danielle Stallings who let out her emotion in her rendition of "Everyday It Rains", Donovan and Rebecca who delivered "sensational" performance dedicated to Donovan's father, comedian Tom Cotter whom Stern called "the man to beat" this season, and Tim Hockenberry who covered Katy Perry's "Part of Me".
