Less than two weeks before it finally opens nationwide, "The Dark Knight Rises" releases a 13-minute behind-the-scenes featurette. In it, director Christopher Nolan and the leading cast members explain the film's main characters, including Bruce Wayne, Bane, Selina Kyle, John Blake, Lucius Fox, Alfred Pennyworth and Miranda Tate.
Also highlighted in the promotional video is the making of the epic movie. Shot in six different locations, the film used various massive sets and gadgets that were built in details and perfection. The footage also shows how Nolan filmed the stadium bombing scene and the police vs. mercenaries battle scene on the streets of Gotham.
Nolan, who has just received a hand and foot print honor at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre, recently opened up to MTV News that "The Dark Knight Rises" is going to highlight "pain" as its main theme. "There's a lot about the consequences of actions [in 'The Dark Knight Rises']," he explained.
"There's a lot about being true to where we left things and where we left the characters at the end of 'The Dark Knight'. [We really tried] to push that forward, saying, 'OK, where would that really go if we carried that story on?' "
Due to open wide in the U.S. on July 20, "The Dark Knight Rises" will see Bane arriving in Gotham City and forcing the Caped Crusader to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent's crimes. It stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Marion Cotillard.
