Green Day are expecting to outdo their best-selling album "Dookie" (1994) with not just one, but three albums as a follow up to their 2009 studio installment "21st Century Breakdown". The punk rock band have prepared a trilogy of albums called "Uno!", "Dos!" and "Tre!" that will all be released within five months starting September this year.

The first installment, which is set to be unleashed September 25, has spawned three singles. The lead single "Oh Love" made it into Billboard Hot 100, and peaked at No. 3 on Alternative Songs chart and No. 1 on Rock Songs chart. Though the second and third singles, "Kill the DJ" and "Let Yourself Go", weren't as successful as the first one in the U.S., they still performed well in several other countries.

To Rolling Stone, vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong claimed that the upcoming album would be "punchier, more power pop - somewhere between AC/DC and the early Beatles" than their previous albums. As for the difference of the three records, he explained, "Uno! is more of a power-pop record, Dos! is more of a party, garage record, and Tre! is sort of this epic ending..."

In a series of efforts to promote the album, Green Day have performed at a number of gigs, including the prestigious MTV Video Music Awards. Though Armstrong was admitted to a hospital reportedly due to "gastric problems" just days before the prize-giving event, the three-piece group managed to take the stage at Staples Center as scheduled.
