Kanye West Dominates Winner List of 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Kanye West was a no-show at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards on September 29, but he won big at the event. Out of the 17 nominations he got, the rap mogul received seven coveted awards for his "Watch the Throne" collaboration with Jay-Z, his work as a producer, and his joint project with his G.O.O.D Music crew.

Kanye collected Track of the Year and Best Club Banger for "Ni**as in Paris" that featured the Hov. He also shared CD of the Year for his duet album "Watch the Throne" with the Jiggaman, and Best Live Performer for their numerous joint performances. On top of that, he got Reese's Perfect Combo for his G.O.O.D Music song "Mercy".

Kanye additionally bagged two solo gongs, Producer of the Year and Made-You-Look Award (Best Hip-Hop Style). Jay-Z, meanwhile, added one more trophy to his collection by taking home Hustler of the Year title. He was unfortunately absent from the show as well.

The show was taped at Atlanta Civic Center with Mike Epps as a host. Musical guests included Rick Ross, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe and Missy Elliott. Another artist who won multiple prizes was Rookie of the Year, 2 Chainz.
