Michael Bay 'Sick' Over Hugo Weaving's Cynical Comment on 'Transformers'

It didn't take too long for Michael Bay to fire back at Hugo Weaving's recent cynical comment on his work in the "Transformers" film series. Calling his stint as the voicer of Megatron "meaningless", Weaving also claimed that he's never even met Bay when working for the autobot war movie franchise. Responding to the comment, Bay stated that he actually got "sick" by the actor.

"Do you ever get sick of actors that make $15 million a picture, or even $200,000 for voiceover work that took a brisk one hour and 43 minutes to complete, and then complain about their jobs?" so the L.A.-born helmer wrote on his blog without mentioning Weaving's name.

"With all the problems facing our world today, do these grumbling thespians really think people reading the news actually care about trivial complaints that their job wasn't 'artistic enough' or 'fulfilling enough'? I guess The Hollywood Reporter thinks so."

The "Pearl Harbor" filmmaker went on claiming, "What happened to people who had integrity, who did a job, got paid for their hard work, and just smiled afterward? Be happy you even have a job - let alone a job that pays you more than 98% of the people in America."

"I have a wonderful idea for all those whiners: They can give their 'unhappy job money' to a wonderful Elephant Rescue. It's the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Africa. I will match the funds they donate."

In a recent interview with Collider, Weaving did mention that he didn't want to return to voice Megatron because it was a "weird job" for him. "I don't regret doing it, but I very rarely do something if it's meaningless. It was meaningless to me, honestly," he said.

"I don't mean that in any nasty way. I did it. It was a two-hour voice job, while I was doing other things. Of course, it's a massive film that's made masses of money. I just happened to be the voice of one of the iconic villainous characters."

Of Michael Bay, the actor said, "My link to that and to Michael Bay is so minimal. I have never met him. I was never on set. I've seen his face on Skype. I know nothing about him, really. I just went in and did it. I never read the script. I just have my lines, and I don't know what they mean. That sounds absolutely pathetic!"

Bay will return to direct "Transformers 4", which is slated for a June 27, 2014 release in the United States.

Report: Michael Bay Might Direct 'Transformers 5' After All

Though he has confirmed his return to the directing seat of "Transformers 4", Michael Bay once hinted that "T4" would be his last work in the successful autobot war film franchise. However, latest update suggested that Bay might still reprise his directing role once again as producer Steven Spielberg reportedly planned a possible fifth "Transformers" film.

The report was sparked by actor Glenn Morshower, who appeared as General Morshower in the last three "Transformers" films, when discussing the franchise at the Con X KC in Kansas City, Missouri. He revealed to Examiner that Bay and Spielberg were not only working on "Transformers 4", but more than likely "Transformers 5" as well.

"After I did the opening ceremonies for the ride [at Universal Studios Hollywood], Steven Spielberg walked up to me and chatted and said 'You know we've got you set to do the fourth one and probably the fifth one on the heels of that," he dished. "So, I guess in December we are on our way to making 4 and 5."

The report added fuel to last year's rumors suggesting that there might be fourth and fifth "Transformers" films which would be shot back-to-back to save the budget. At that time, Bay declared that he wouldn't be involved in the projects despite the big success of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". He, however, signed on to "T4" earlier this year, confirming that the upcoming movie would include a new cast ensemble.

"I thought I was done. Then the ride came out and the two-and-a-half-hour lines. And then you're thinking, Oh my God, someone's going to take this over," Bay recently said of why he finally decided to return to the fourth film. "And you start doing a lot of soul-searching. Like, OK, I'm about to do a little movie, 'Pain and Gain'... and the studio says they want to restart the franchise."

"Transformers 4" is scheduled to open in the U.S. on June 27, 2014.

Michael Bay Denies 'Ninja Turtles' Leaked Script Written by His Camp

After being continuously criticized, Michael Bay finally broke silence over the leaked script issue of his "Ninja Turtles" reboot project. Taking to his Shoot for the Edit account, the "Transformers" director insisted that the said screenplay was already dumped "a long time ago" and it was written even before he signed on to the gig.

"The leaked script for Ninja Turtles that different sites continue to comment on was written well before I, or anyone at Platinum Dunes, was involved with the project," so the 47-year-old director claimed. "The script saw the shredder a long time ago. This is tired, old news -- Wait for the movie!"

Despite what Bay said, Latino Review noticed that the much-talked-about leaked script actually had a January 30, 2012 date, which "would seem like almost 2 years after Bay and Platinum Dunes were attached to the project in late May 2010."

The "Ninja Turtles" screenplay has been widely criticized by a lot of rabid "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" fanboys. The original co-creator for "TMNT", Peter Laird, even called it "so fundamentally flawed" and should be "tossed out" and "deliberately forgotten" because it's "so NOT a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie."

It has been rumored that the script issue was the main reason why Paramount Pictures decided to push back the movie from December 2013 to May 16, 2014. Johnathan Liebesman is set to direct the project with Kevin Eastman, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec all hired to pen the script.
